Term and Condition
All participants of "AVEDA Walk for Water 2024" (the "Event") MUST read the following terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them. By submitting the registration form, the participant submitting the registration form expressly acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions and declares that each of the other participant(s) in the same entry (if any), either by him/herself or by his/her parent or legal guardian if he/she is aged under 18, has/have also acknowledged and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Event Registration and Donation
- All submitted registration fees and donations are non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Registration is processed through the Klook platform. Participants agree to pay the registration and their donation for the Event via Klook and that they will not to refuse to make payment for any reason.
- No changes to any information can be made after successful online registration.
Requirements
- To be eligible for the Event, participants must complete the registration procedure on or before the application deadline of 12 April 2024, including paying the registration fee and the minimum donation amount.
- Individual entry participant must be 18 years old or above at the time of the Event.
- Children aged 0 to 2 do may attend the Event but will not be regarded as a participants; children aged 3 to 12 and youth aged 13 to 17 must be registered if they wish to participate in the Event. All attendees and participants aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- The registration fee and minimum donation for entries by youth aged 13 to 17 is the same as adult participants (i.e. registration fee $100 & minimum donation $600/participant). The registration fee and minimum donations for entries by children aged 4 to 12 is registration fee $100 & minimum donation $300/participant.
- Each adult participant can only bring a maximum of 2 minor attendees/participants aged 0 to 17 to the Event.
- The team leader of each entry under the family, group or corporate category must be aged 18 years old or above at the time of the Event.
- Maximum number of participants per team is 10.
- Participants who have registered for any workshop shall arrive at the workshop booth 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the workshop. If any participant fails to arrive 10 minutes before the start time of the workshop, his/her quota will be transferred to another participant on the queue. There will be no refund of any fees to the late participant.
- Participants (or their parents or legal guardians if they are aged under 18) must understand the risks associated with taking part in the Event and the degree of fitness required. If there is any doubt, please seek medical advice in advance. Each participant (or his/her parent or legal guardian if the participant is aged under 18) warrants that the participant is mentally and physically fit and is fit to participate in and complete the Event; and that the participant has not been diagnosed by any qualified medical practitioner as unsuitable to participate in the Event for any reason.
Precautions for owners who bring their dogs to participate in the Event
All dogs brought by their owners to attend the Event must be at least 5 months old and microchipped.
Owners who bring their dogs to the Event are required to present proof of Rabies vaccination if requested by the Organiser.
During the Event, should any dog show any of sign of irregular condition such as hyperventilation, the owner should take appropriate action to ensure its safety.
For safety reason, owners who bring their dogs to the Event must put their dogs on leash (and large dogs must be muzzled) and appropriately control their dogs at all times during the Event.
Owners who bring their dogs to the Event must clean up after their dogs to keep the venue clean.
During the Event, in the unfortunate event of any accidents caused by or happened to any participating dogs, the owner of the dog or the person causing the accident shall take responsibility of all claims and liabilities arising from such accident. The Organizer shall not be responsible for such accident..
Change, terminate or cancellation of the Event
- The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event, change the event route or terminate the Event without prior notice due to weather conditions, actual road conditions (including but not limited to landslides, hill fires, protests or blockage or closure along the event route) or any other emergency situations. The Event may also be temporarily suspended for emergency vehicles to get access to part of the event route and handle emergency situation during the Event. In case of any emergency situation, participants should follow the instructions of onsite event officials or law enforcement officers. None of the registration fees or donations will be refunded under any circumstances.
- If the Red / Black Rainstorm Signal, Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted at or after 6pm on the day before the Event, the Event will be cancelled.
- If the Event is cancelled due to bad weather or other unforeseeable reasons, the Organizer will use its best endeavor to make an announcement as soon as possible on the Event webpage and social media platform.
- If the Event is cancelled or terminated due to adverse weather, landslide, hill fire, protest, road blockage or closure, force majeure or any other reason, the Event will not be rescheduled. None of the registration fees or donations will be refunded.
Others
- The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to any person or dog to the event venue or request any person or dog to leave the Event, without refund of registration fee or donation.
- Participants must take good care of the event card. In the event of loss, damage, or breakage, re-registration or replacement will not be allowed. Any unauthorized alteration to the event card or copy of the event card made by way of photocopying, printing, scanning or any other methods shall be considered as invalid.
- The Organizer reserves the right to use portrait of the participants, sounds, video or any record of the Event for future promotional purpose.
- The Organizer has purchased a group personal accident and public liability insurance for the Event. This however is not a personal accident insurance for individual participants. Also, participants will not be covered if they cause injury to others under any circumstances. Participants shall be responsible for his/her own risks during the Event and may purchase other suitable insurance by themselves as needed.
- Participation in “Walk and Fun for Water 2024” is strictly voluntary in nature and at each participant’s own risk. Each participant agrees to absolve the Organizer and its agents, the sponsors, the supporting organizations and/or their respective employees and staff members from any and all claims and liabilities whether arising from bodily injury, accident, death or other loss and whether incurred during the Event, travelling to or from the Event or for any other reason whatsoever.
- These terms and conditions constitute an agreement between the Organizer and each participant. A person who is not a party to this agreement shall not have any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Chapter 623 of the Laws of Hong Kong) to enforce any term of this agreement.
- The Organizer reserves the right to amend all the above terms and conditions at any time without further notice. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Organizer shall be final.
The terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
