Term and Condition
All participants must read and agree to these terms and conditions of the "AVEDA Walk for Water" (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") organized by A Drop of Life (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer"). By submitting the registration form, the participant acknowledges their understanding of and agreement to abide by these terms. Furthermore, they declare that all other participants (if applicable) or their parents or legal guardians (if the participant is under 18 years of age) are also aware of and agree to be bound by these terms.
Event Registration and Donation
- All registration fees and donations are non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Once registration is confirmed, no information may be modified.
Eligibility to Participate
- All participants must complete the registration process by the deadline of April 11, 2025, including payment of the registration fee and minimum donation amount, to qualify for participation.
- Individual participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Children aged 0 to 2 may attend but will not be considered participants; children aged 3 to 12 and adolescents aged 13 to 17 must register as participants; and all attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- The registration fee and minimum donation amount for participants aged 13 to 17 are equivalent to those for adults ($100 registration fee and $600 minimum donation). For children aged 3 to 12, the registration fee is $100, with a minimum donation of $300.
- Each adult participant may bring a maximum of two minors aged 0 to 17.
- The team leader for family, group, or corporate teams must be at least 18 years old on the day of the Event.
- Each group may consist of a maximum of ten participants.
- Participants must acknowledge the risks associated with the Event and understand the physical demands involved; if in doubt, they should consult a physician.
- Participants guarantee that they are in good mental and physical health, suitable for participation, and have not been diagnosed by a medical professional as unfit to participate.
Shuttle Bus
- The Organizer will provide shuttle bus services on the day of the Event; participants must board on time according to the time and location specified on their tickets.
- Participants must present their tickets in order to board; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Each ticket is valid for one passenger/one adult passenger with one pet. All passengers acknowledge and agree that there may be pets in the shuttle bus.
- Participants bringing pets must be at least 18 years old and capable of caring for their pets during transit.
- Participants with pets are required to ride on designated pet shuttle buses with their pets.
- The Organizer reserves the right to deny boarding of any participant or pet that appears disoriented, unkempt, or dirty, in order to prevent disturbances or hazards to other passengers.
- Due to limited space, participants may not bring pet strollers or large items, nor items that may pose a danger or are offensive onto the bus. Participants should ensure that aisles remain clear; pets or items must not obstruct pathways, entrances, or stairs.
- Eating, drinking, feeding pets, or littering inside the bus is prohibited in order to maintain cleanliness.
- Before boarding, participants should assess whether their pets are suitable for bus travel.
- Participants must continuously monitor their own safety and that of minor participants who travel with them and their pets, ensuring proper restraint to prevent loss or disturbance to others.
- Dogs must be secured in carriers, bags, or boxes for safety purposes.
- Participants with large dogs should opt for ferry or taxi transport to the event venue.
- Passengers must ensure that their pets wear masks that allow sufficient airflow for breathing in order to avoid overheating.
- The Organizer reserves the right to change departure times and pick-up locations without prior notice. In the event of change, the Organizer will use its best endeavor to make announcements on the Event website and social media platforms as soon as possible.
攜帶寵物 Important Notes for Pet Owners Participating in The Event
- Pets may only be brought to the Event by adult participants. Each adult participant may only bring one pet.
- Participants bringing pets are responsible for the safety of their own pets.
- Participants should bring their own drinking water for their pets.
- Dogs participating in the Event must be at least five months old, microchipped, vaccinated against rabies, and licensed; upon request from the Organizer, owners must present valid rabies vaccination documentation.
- All dogs must wear leashes; large dogs are required to wear muzzles for safety purposes.
- Participants should bring cleaning supplies for waste disposal; participants bringing pets are responsible for cleaning up after them in order to maintain hygiene at the event venue.
- The following dogs are not recommended for participation:
- Dogs that have received combination vaccines within two weeks prior.
- Dogs exhibiting health issues (e.g., rapid heartbeat or breathing).
- Female dogs in heat.
- Owners should monitor their pets for unusual symptoms such as elevated body temperature, excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, or lethargy; if any symptoms arise, immediate veterinary assistance should be sought.
- In the event that any accidents occur due to any participating pets during the Event, the owner of that pet or any person responsible for causing such an accident shall bear all claims and liabilities; the Organizer shall not be held liable for such incidents.
Workshops
- Registered workshop participants are required to arrive at least ten minutes prior to the scheduled start time at the workshop booth; if any participant fails to arrive within this timeframe, their spot will be allocated to those waiting on-site. Latecomers will not receive refunds.
Changes, Interruptions, or Cancellations of The Event
- The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event or modify its route due to weather conditions or actual road situations (including but not limited to landslides, wildfires, protests causing roadblocks) or other emergencies without prior notice. Should emergency vehicles require access during the Event for urgent situations, activities may also be temporarily suspended. Participants are required to follow instructions from on-site staff or law enforcement authorities during emergencies. No registration fees or donations will be refunded under any circumstances.
- If a black rainstorm warning or red rainstorm warning is in place or issued after 6 PM on the day before the Event or if a typhoon signal No. 8 or higher is in place or hoisted at that time, the Event will be canceled.
- If the Event needs to be canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the Organizer will make announcements as soon as possible on the Event website and social media platforms.
- If the Event is canceled or terminated due to inclement weather, landslides, wildfires, protests causing roadblocks or closures, force majeure events, or any other reasons, the Event will not be rescheduled; registration fees and donations will not be refunded.
Miscellaneous
- Participants may not bring any dangerous items that obstruct the conduct of activities (e.g., offensive weapons or flammable materials) into the event area; violators will be asked to leave immediately and may be referred to law enforcement authorities.
- If requested by Organizer to leave the Event, participants must immediately cease participation and leave the venue; registration fees and donations will not be refunded.
- Participants are responsible for keeping their activity cards secure; lost or damaged cards will not be reissued under any circumstances or replaced. Any alterations or reproductions of activity cards will render them invalid.
- The Organizer reserves the right to use images captured during the Event for promotional purposes without further notice.
- The Organizer has purchased group personal accident insurance and public liability insurance for the Event; however, this does not cover personal accident insurance for individual participants nor does it cover injuries caused by participants resulting in harm to others during the Event. Participants assume all risks during the Event and may purchase additional suitable insurance as needed.
- Participation in "AVEDA Walk for Water" is voluntary; participants willingly assume all risks and responsibilities without recourse against the Organizer and its agents, sponsors, supporting organizations and/or their respective employees and staff for injuries sustained by themselves or others arising from participation in travel-related activities before/during/after the Event or otherwise arising therefrom.
- The above terms constitute an agreement between participants; individuals who are not parties to this agreement have no rights under Hong Kong's Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623).
- The Organizer reserves the right at any time to change any terms without further notice; in case of disputes regarding these terms/conditions/clauses/interpretation thereof shall rest with Organizer whose decisions shall be final.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
